An undercover operation in Connecticut led to multiple arrests of men accused of seeking sexual encounters with minors, with suspects facing charges including criminal attempt at risk of injury of a minor, sexual contact with a victim under 16, and second-degree criminal attempt at sexual assault.

The operation, involving Norwalk and Stamford police along with U.S. Homeland Security, used online undercover stings where officers posted as minors to lure would-be predators.

Investigators specifically placed advertisements on dating sites and social media as 15-year-olds to expose offenders and monitor their responses.

Detroja Kabhi, 23, of West Haven, and Giys Jbeili, 34, of Milford, were among those charged, with Kabhi facing multiple counts including criminal attempt at risk of injury of a minor and criminal attempt at commercial sexual abuse of a minor, and Jbeili facing similar charges.

Additional charges against the Milford suspect include criminal attempt at sexual abuse of a minor, alongside other related offenses.

Among the arrestees were Jonathan Celis-Hernandez, 39, of Norwalk, and Luis Figueroa, 38, of Norwalk, both charged with criminal attempt at risk of injury of a minor, sexual contact with a victim under 16, and second-degree criminal attempt at sexual assault.

A fourth suspect, previously unnamed in the provided material, was also arrested on similar counts including sexual assault-related charges.

All four suspects are being held on $500,000 bond each and are scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 26 as the investigation continues.
