FBI's Operation Iron Pursuit Arrests 350 Child Abuse Offenders, Rescues Over 200 Victims
May 5, 2026
The FBI announced that more than 350 alleged child sexual abuse offenders were arrested nationwide as part of Operation Iron Pursuit, a coordinated effort across all 56 FBI field offices and multiple U.S. Attorneys' offices.
Two individuals—the transgender parent and their partner—were arrested on International Parental Kidnapping charges related to allegedly relocating a child abroad.
Highlight cases include James Strahler II, who pleaded guilty to cyberstalking and creating AI-generated explicit material involving real victims; Alber Rodriguez, accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy and recording the abuse; and Anthony Greene, charged with production and distribution of child pornography and related offenses.
The operation recovered more than 200 child victims, including a 10-year-old in Utah allegedly taken to Cuba by the transgender parent and partner, raising concerns about welfare and possible fears around gender-transition issues.
FBI Director Kash Patel characterized Operation Iron Pursuit as a continuation of aggressive interagency work to dismantle child abuse networks, building on prior operations that identified thousands of victims and hundreds of offenders.
