Verkada unveils a comprehensive upgrade to its cloud-based Command platform, adding Transportation, Sound Systems, and Catalyst integrations, with software updates rolling out in early October and new hardware shipments planned for October and November.

An integration with Skydio enables triggering GPS coordinates to dispatch autonomous drones in response to specific alerts, with drone footage fed back into Command for review.

The Verkada platform is now used by more than 30,000 organizations across 170 countries, including over 100 Fortune 500 companies, underscoring broad enterprise adoption.

Catalyst provides a read-only Model Context Protocol integration that links Command to approved AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), allowing natural-language prompts to generate workflows and reports while maintaining control over agents and processes.

Transportation broadens the platform to cover vehicles and assets in transit, offering a trip history that blends location, video, driving events, and vehicle diagnostics, with privacy protections such as face blurring.

The update delivers computer vision enhancements and adds new devices and modes, including a Live mode for real-time investigations, alerts for wrong-way driving, blocked doors, transport ID tracking, concealment, and grab-and-run, plus a thermal camera line for low-light operations and six new FIPS-validated cameras for government deployments.

Sound Systems introduces cloud-managed enterprise audio, letting Network Audio Players and Network Speakers work with third-party speakers and amplifiers within a single interface for paging and music.
