Cursor introduces Projects, a beta system that coordinates long-running software work through thousands of delegated agents, accessible from the left-hand navigation and built to handle multi-PR workflows, large migrations, full applications, and ongoing maintenance.

Projects can set reminders, schedule tasks, monitor PRs to fix CI issues, watch Slack for bug reports, and synchronize shared files across cloud and local machines to preserve research, artifacts, codebase knowledge, testing instructions, and developer preferences.

Cursor identifies three core usage patterns: feature development, incremental migrations, and gardening tasks like code-quality upkeep and regression monitoring.

Each Project is led by a coordinator agent that plans and dispatches work to coding agents, enabling parallel research, implementation, and testing while keeping the coordinator responsive.

Internal testing over months shows Projects support migrations with hundreds of PRs, design-system maintenance, and development of Projects itself, with metrics indicating higher PR merge rates for both general users and primary workflow users.

Projects run on independent cloud computers so work continues when a developer’s laptop is closed, with a local agent available on a developer’s hardware for testing tasks.

New Projects users will have the coordinator assume control after detailing what to build, and the rollout is currently in beta for all Cursor users.

Subscriptions convert Projects into persistent operators, letting the coordinator monitor Slack, schedule actions, follow PRs, and automatically fix CI or respond when PRs open or merge.
