Usage has surged dramatically, rising from 300 million weekly users in December 2024 to 500 million by February 2025, and then to 900 million today.

If current momentum continues, ChatGPT could become the first AI service to surpass one billion weekly active users later this year.

January and February are forecast to be the company’s strongest months ever for new paid sign-ups as adoption accelerates.

More than 50 million consumer subscribers are paying, representing over five percent of weekly active users.
