AMD has introduced the new EPYC 4585PX processor, which demonstrates nearly a threefold performance boost over the original EPYC 7601 flagship server chip, based on extensive benchmarking across various workloads.

This processor offers a lower-cost and power-efficient alternative to high-end chips, making it competitive with more expensive processors typically used by top-tier web hosting providers.

The significant performance improvements highlighted by these benchmarks indicate that older enterprise systems are increasingly falling behind modern, more efficient processors.

Despite having fewer memory channels and a more compact design, the EPYC 4585PX achieves an average of 2.69 times the performance of its predecessor, the EPYC 7601.

In addition to raw performance, the EPYC 4585PX is approximately 2.85 times more efficient in terms of performance-per-Watt, thanks to architectural refinements and improved design efficiency.
