BETBOOM beat FURIA in a three-map IEM Beijing quarter-final, ending a five-match losing streak against them and advancing to the semi-finals.

They opened with a dominant 13-5 win on Ancient, where Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko delivered high-impact multi-kills and a clutch before helping close the map on the CT side.

FURIA answered on Dust2, recovering from an early deficit as Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo opened the second half with an all-headshot USP ace and late multi-kills from Danil “molodoy” Golubenko and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato forced a decider.

On Nuke, BETBOOM went up 5-0 and reached match point at 12-7, but FURIA won five consecutive rounds to force overtime.

After the teams traded rounds in overtime, Pavel “S1ren” Ogloblin and zorte put BETBOOM on match point, and Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov ended the series by flanking FURIA’s final A-site attempt.

Zorte led BETBOOM overall with 62 kills and a 1.35 rating.

Magnojez called the matchup another “cinema game” and joked that no one beats BETBOOM six times, crediting better communication, stronger shooting and the team’s ability to recover from tough situations; he suggested FURIA may have been tired.

Magnojez credited coach Fierce with adding structure and involving all five players so they can perform individually, while working with Boombl4 to keep the team aligned.

He said BETBOOM’s progress reflects stronger team confidence and communication, including better coordination on both paired and individual plays, rather than only his own confidence.

He attributed zorte’s strong play to renewed confidence, saying BETBOOM’s improved form has helped him perform at times like ZywOo.

Magnojez said the team had learned from difficult results at Katowice and the Thunderpick World Championship, and described its group-stage loss to MOUZ as poor in communication and shooting.

BETBOOM will face MOUZ in the semi-finals after losing to them in the group stage.
