Apple’s Siri AI Gains Actions Across 15 Apps as Developers Get Early Access
November 6, 2026
Apple’s first iOS 27.3 developer beta expands Siri AI actions across 15 built-in apps, and users can ask Siri which commands each supported app offers.
The new actions cover everyday tasks such as getting directions, managing a to-do list, sending messages and catching up on an audiobook, with Skills able to combine multiple actions for more complex requests.
Siri can also organize documents, delete files that have not been opened within a specified period, and manage Weather locations and notifications.
In Mail, users can unsubscribe from mailing lists or undo a recently sent email; in Safari, Siri can clear history, organize tabs and windows, close duplicate tabs and save articles to Reading List.
Siri AI can surface entities through Spotlight’s semantic index, including information that does not fit an existing predefined data structure.
Apple opened a developer preview on November 3, 2026, enabling third-party apps to make selected content and actions available to Siri AI through App Intents; a first customer release is expected in a few months, while App Store submissions for apps using the preview are expected to open in spring, with no year specified.
App Intents let Siri use an app’s exposed content and actions alongside personal context, on-screen information and natural-language requests to carry out supported tasks.
Developers can create actions such as checking deliveries, booking reservations and placing orders, then bundle actions into app Skills; how useful the feature becomes will depend on developer adoption and what they build.
The opening developer preview is available in the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 betas; watchOS 27.3 appears on Apple’s broader list of Siri AI beta platforms but not in the preview’s opening platform list.
Siri AI adds Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian, following improvements introduced in iOS 27.2.
The preview requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device set to English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese or Spanish, and Siri AI is unavailable to users under 13.
Apple said in its November 3 announcement that Siri AI was unavailable in the European Union on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS.
