A Long Beach man, Charles Burns, 34, was arrested after a joint FBI, Long Beach Police Department, and Nassau County Police Department operation led to a large seizure of illegal weapons and drugs in Long Island.

Law enforcement agencies say they will continue pursuing leads and further investigate the case.

Officials plan to display the recovered firearms, narcotics, and cash during the briefing to illustrate the scope of the seizure.

The residence was located across from a playground and near a church and a local head start school, underscoring the potential risk to families in the neighborhood.

Officials described the operation as a result of strong inter-agency cooperation and said the seizure aims to improve community safety as a new school year begins.

A news conference is scheduled for Monday morning at Long Beach City Hall where officials are expected to provide more details about the case and the suspect in custody.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at a house on JJ Evans Boulevard, recovering 23 firearms—including two ghost guns—along with a large quantity of ammunition.

Authorities recovered firearms and drugs, including heroin, fentanyl, ecstasy, and cocaine, and more than $100,000 in cash.

The raid in Long Beach led to the seizure of more than 20 illegal firearms, illegal drugs, and over $100,000 in cash.

The seizure also included thousands of pills and drug packaging materials, along with substantial amounts of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and MDMA, plus over $100,000 in cash.

The circumstances of the arrest have not been disclosed and the investigation remains ongoing.

The operation was conducted Friday by the Long Beach Police Department, the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, and the FBI, resulting in at least one arrest.
