Apple released new iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 wallpapers ahead of the official launch following WWDC 2026 announcements.

Apple iOS 27 introduces AI-generated wallpapers that can be created from users’ photos and styled differently to fit iPhone screens.

A public rollout for iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is anticipated in the coming months after beta testing with developers and public testers.

The new lock screen features a compact clock mode, replacing the larger clock option found in iOS 26.

WWDC highlighted improvements beyond visuals, including Siri enhancements, AI-powered Shortcuts, and new tools like Image Playgrounds.

Wallpapers include abstract designs that form the number 27, available in static color palettes with dynamic versions launching with the full OS.

For the first time, Apple unifies branded wallpapers across iOS, iPadOS, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and CarPlay under a single design called Celosia.

Official iOS 27 wallpapers are expected to be released ahead of the OS launch, with downloads available prior to release.

To apply wallpapers, open Apple's wallpaper gallery, save to your device, then set via Photos or Settings > Wallpaper, adjusting positioning as needed.

Apple Intelligence is integrated to extend photos beyond their edges using a wallpaper extension for better screen fit.

Users can generate AI wallpapers either from a dedicated wallpaper picker or by describing a concept in Image Playground to create a matching design.
