Rivian and Caruso have agreed to deploy more than 150 public DC fast chargers across Caruso-managed properties in the Los Angeles area over the next year, all powered by 100% renewable energy.

The chargers will be installed across Caruso’s malls and residential buildings as part of a multi-year partnership, expanding Rivian’s charging footprint in Southern California.

Rivian’s deal with Caruso aims to complement the company’s LA retail expansion, including two new Rivian showrooms at The Commons at Calabasas and The Americana at Brand in Glendale.

The two new showrooms will feature gallery-like designs and private experiences, broadening Rivian’s LA retail footprint ahead of the R2 launch.

The announcement is contextualized with coverage from the LA Times and press materials situating the project within California’s broader EV ecosystem.

California remains Rivian’s home state with plans for nearly 30 retail/demo locations, including two Caruso showrooms, and an expanding charging and service footprint beyond the Inland Empire.

Caruso describes the partnership as elevating the retail experience and aligning with modern consumer lifestyles, while Rivian emphasizes meaningful community experiences.

Rivian’s charging network, including two new showrooms, will complement the chargers by reinforcing the Rivian Waypoints and Adventure Network with renewable-powered charging.

Rivian’s R2 uses a North American Charging Standard port, so Caruso’s chargers will serve it natively; older R1s used CCS with a free adapter for NACS stations.

The rollout takes place amid ongoing regional charger shortages in some northern counties and Inyo County, as California broadens its EV adoption and charging ecosystem.

The collaboration includes ride-and-drive experiences across Caruso locations in Los Angeles, Marina del Rey, Thousand Oaks, and beyond.

Rivian serves as presenting sponsor for Caruso’s Christmas at The Grove, with Rivian owners in Caruso’s membership program entitled to free parking at Caruso properties.
